Hi, I’m Warren Smith – Africa & India Specialist
You name it, I’ve done it – travel, photography, business. I’ve travelled all over the world, spent time living in Europe and have worked in travel almost all my life. Feel free to pick my brains on any destination - I’ve probably been there.
I’m a home grown Aussie, but I was born in Kuala Lumpur to Army folk and raised in several cities across Australia and Asia, which gave me the travel bug from a very early age. I lived in the UK for many years and spent my life travelling, jumping on a flight at a moment’s notice, but searching beyond the tourist hot spots looking for real and unique experiences – such as visiting the Caucasus Mountains in Russian Georgia this year. I have a real passion for Turkey, its cuisine and its extraordinary people. As the crossroads of the world for millennia, hospitality is in the Turkish peoples’ DNA – something I have never felt anywhere else – truly unique and an enlightening destination. I love the richness of foreign cultures both ancient and modern, learning about peoples' lives but also spending time with them, sharing food and a glass of the local wine. Getting to know how people fill their day, their history, their social norms and community structures, just draws me into a destination. It makes you feel like you’re really part of it.
