Hi, I’m Margaret Jones – Specialist Journeys Escort
Nine African safaris in 12 years (South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and Kenya) have shuffled some other bucket-list destinations down the list, but I’ve also squeezed in several trips to the USA and New Zealand in that time.
Before I discovered Africa, my travels took me to Canada, France, Italy, UK, Vanuatu, Singapore and Bali, as well as USA and New Zealand

My Story
When I was eight, I read Born Free and my love affair with wild cats began.
My passion for Africa was re-ignited many years later when I took the plunge and left the corporate world to pursue my passion for animals. Working and volunteering at Werribee Open Range and Melbourne Zoos for over a decade provided unique training in tour guiding and wildlife “interpretation”. Training hundreds of zoo guides built my knowledge of animal behaviour, biology and wildlife conservation.
I worked in the parks industry for a while too, and am active in animal ethics in research and animal welfare in Australia and the Antarctic.
