Led by internationally acclaimed chef Christine Manfield, this handcrafted journey through Italy explores the prettiest and most productive culinary regions of Puglia, from the fruitful Adriatic and Ionian Seas to the pure grass‐green heights of the Dolomite mountains and the cultural capital of Venice.
Throughout you'll benefit from Christine's expertise during small group cooking sessions and taste and cook with the region's best produce fresh from source. Through her personal connections you’ll meet small scale farmers and traditional artisanal producers alongside Michelin‐starred chefs, passionate home cooks and world class winemakers. Such meetings and experiences are not available 'off the shelf' but are offered exclusively to Christine's guests giving those who travel with her unique access to the people and properties that truly define the gastronomy of the region. Digging beneath the surface in a way few visitors ever could, you’ll begin to understand the influence of Italy’s fascinating history upon its cuisine, appreciate its ubiquitous cultural heritage and learn the art of culinary design first hand whilst preparing and enjoying sumptuous feasts with Christine in traditional Masseria kitchens.
Beginning your journey on the Adriatic coast you’ll sample Mediterranean red prawns, mussels and sea urchins plucked fresh from the ocean, before moving inland to sample some of the region’s finest cheese, meats, wine, olives, pasta and gelato. To the north and scaling the Dolomites, you’ll experience the vitality and freshness of the mountains first hand and witness the magic that occurs when pristine produce collides with today’s most inspiring chefs.
Travelling by road you’ll pass through pretty whitewashed villages and areas of traditional cone‐roofed trulli housing, take in splendid ocean and mountain views and experience authentic rural life as you explore remote villages and farms. Staying in a hand‐picked selection of Italy’s finest hotels and guesthouses you’ll enjoy the indulgent luxury of Relais & Châteaux properties alongside the magnificent history of stylishly restored 15th century masserias and the exclusivity of boutique farmhouses, all oﬀering exceptional dining experiences.
