Key Facts

  •   14 days

  •   Designed as a framework for inspiration

This inspiration itinerary is the perfect framework for a holiday centered around Colombia's art, design and food, as well as it's many cultures ranging from ancient to modern.

In the pulsating hub of Bogotá you'll experience a city reborn as you discover the street art and graffiti which tells the stories of Colombia's social history. You'll wander the museums and soak up the coffee culture, then sample the work of avant-garde chefs, flooding back to Colombia to fuel a resurgent gastronomic scene.  The food is exquisite and the energy and optimism it portrays is electrifying!

Moving on you'll visit the artisans of Villa de Leyva in the Andes who specialise in clay, leather and textiles, then continue to Barichara which has barely changed since colonial times. The houses are perfectly preserved and traditional skills such as stone carving and weaving live on. It was recently named Colombia’s prettiest village yet surprisingly very few tourists venture here.

Finally you'll arrive in picture-perfect Cartagena with its bougainvillea-draped mansions and colourful cobblestone streets of fruit sellers, cafes and designer boutiques. There will be plenty of time to get under the skin of the city, drinking rum with locals, learning to cook local dishes or discovering its piratical past whilst rounding off your holiday on the beautiful Caribbean coast.
