‘Holi India' is an annual journey offered by the ‘Secret Women’s Series’ – a 'sell out' tour that is designed specifically to coincide with the annual Holi colour festival that celebrates the beginning of Spring. Escorted by Classic Safari Company Director, and Founder of The Secret Women's Series, Sarah Hoyland, this journey will awaken your senses and touch your heart as you immerse yourself in all the wonder of India.
For the culturally inquisitive, India is a nation of contrasts, a treasure trove of stunning forts, sprawling palaces, diverse landscapes, splendid cuisine, incredibly hospitable people and amazing shopping!
This action packed 14 day journey will guide you through the fascinating cities of Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Narlai and Udaipur offering a feast for the senses at every turn. We will wake to the sound of the muezzin’s call, dine by candlelight in an ancient Stepwell and ride rickshaws and bullock carts like locals. Rising at dawn we will experience 'real' India as the cities wake, witnessing morning rituals on the ghats along the holy Ganges River, wandering through the fragrant flower markets & narrow cobblestone alleyways lined with 'chai wallahs'. We will visit ancient forts and palaces, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, spot leopards in the hills surrounding Narlai and we will meet friendly and inspiring people along the way. Of course we will visit the iconic Taj Mahal which is every bit as enthralling as one imagines, especially at the quieter times of sunrise and sunset, and there will be plenty of opportunities to satisfy your desire for retail therapy along the way!
During our journey the streets will explode in a display of riotous colour with the Hindu Spring Festival of Holi. Holi is India’s most
dazzling celebration of life, love and colour and we will be swept up in the mesmerising displays of dance & music which take place on this hugely
significant, joyous day. An unmissable specatcle! Read More: India | Rajasthan | Sarah Hoyland | Secret Women's Series
