Ubuntu Migration Camp
Small, seasonal travelling camp
Ubuntu camp is a seasonal camp that travels with the natural flow of the wildebeest through the Serengeti eco system.
The camp follows the wildebeest migration and intercepts its movements. From December to March the camp is located in the Ndutu area, in the Southern Serengeti - a magical period when the Great Migration is in the south and gives birth to the next generation. Dispersed across the plains, wildebeest and zebra are everywhere, feeding on the fresh nutritious grasses, whilst lion and cheetah find these the perfect hunting grounds. In From May to July the migration gradually spreads west to the Grumeti area, which is where Ubuntu is based at this time. The herds then plod from July to November, when the camp is located in the Northern Serengeti. This is when the migration dramatically crosses the Mara River into the Masai Mara in Kenya, and back again.
Hospitality, great food and a wonderful relaxed environment make up the essence of Ubuntu Camp. Each of the 9 en suite tents (one of which is a family tent) has a small veranda and seating area that allows you to enjoy the peace of the wilderness in your own space. The communal areas of the camp, a dining room and lounge, are set around an open fire with unsurpassed views of the surrounding bush.
Daily game drives hosted by experienced, qualified guides will showcase the abundant wildlife in the Serengeti. Enjoy morning and afternoon forays, or day long adventures with a picnic lunch.
