Opulent 1920s-style explorer’s camp
Grumeti Private Reserve is located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, bordering the national park, and encompasses 340,000 acres of unrivalled wilderness. The area forms part of the famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds of thousands of animals every year.
Sabora Tented Camp offers guests the opportunity to experience the elegant safari lifestyle of Hemingway, Blixen and Roosevelt. This lavish tented camp is located on the vast Sabora Plains with spectacular views of the savanna. The spacious air conditioned tents, with a lounge library, are gracefully decorated: rich fabrics, glorious antiques, Persian rugs and campaign furniture come together to recreate the style so familiar to those famous African adventurers. Dining beneath elegant awnings, your table is set with crisp, white linen, the finest porcelain, crystal goblets and silver.
The professionally guided activities include game drives in open vehicles, walks, night drives, and mountain biking. Play a game of tennis surrounded by the African wilderness or partake in a spot of badminton, lawn croquet or swimming in the heated plunge pool. You will also have the opportunity to visit one of twelve observation posts (OP) dotted across the reserve. Each OP is manned by two scouts who are constantly surveying the area for any unusual activity, be that poaching, unauthorised grazing or any other wildlife-related issue. This is a unique opportunity made possible by the Singita Grumeti Fund anti-poaching team.
