Saadani Safari Lodge
Where wildlife meets the waves
Saadani Safari Lodge is located on the southern border of the Saadani National Park, on the coast. It’s East Africa’s only park with sea frontage, approximately 170km north of Dar es Salaam.
The lodge has six eco-friendly suites and nine classic banda suites, each with ocean views opening on to the sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean with verandas overlooking the park. Rooms feature swathes of cotton cloth adorning the ceilings, large romantic Zanzibar style nets, locally carved furniture and incredible views over the ocean. The authentic thatched restaurant is located on the beach front and serves freshly caught seafood with an assortment of local fresh produce. Meals take place in the restaurant as well as in the bush and on the beach. Private dining arrangements can be made upon request.
The lodge offers a variety of activities ranging from traditional game drives to sand bank picnics to a Maasai Community Tour. The sandy beach is home to fishermen reeling in their daily catch and near to the Wami River and a lagoon abundant with turtles. Paddle up the Wami River and spot hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birdlife or game drive in the bush where the wildlife is plentiful. It is also possible to take an exciting bush adventure on foot and fly-camp under the stars or simply relax on the beach and swim in the ocean.
Saadani Safari Lodge is an opportunity to combine a luxury safari with a relaxing beach jaunt.
