Posada Puerto Bemberg
Rustic luxury in the jungle
On a promontory high above the Río Paraná, 25 miles from Iguazú Falls, sits this rustic yet luxurious retreat within 1,000 acres of private jungle.
The colonial-style villa of Posada Puerto Bemberg has 14 robustly furnished rooms that open onto cheerful gardens of canna and guadua bamboo. Its colonnaded verandas cooled by fans, offer the perfect place to relax after a day of jungle activities. The rooms are spacious and cool with stone floors, high ceilings and large screened windows. Meals are taken in the restaurant with dishes combining international sophistication with distinct Argentine flavours. Every few days the lodge also arranges an asado (traditional barbeque) on the edge of the reserve where you can dine under a blanket of stars.
Taking care in preserving this natural environment, today’s guests can enjoy this innate wild setting with its trails, bird sounds, marshes, streams, waterfalls, and forests. Entering a wooden runway located over the trees, you arrive in an open space with stunning views of the river. Its particular location allows an intimate and unique contact with nature. Explore the Paraná’s tributaries in the hotel’s boat, spot colourful birdlife from the 20m watchtower and canopy-level observation deck or head off on an early-morning nature walk through the reserve. For those wanting to explore further afield, the historical 17th century Jesuit missions are located near Posadas, a 2.5 hour drive away where you can view the spectacular red-brick ruins rising out of the jungle or arrange a day trip to the spectacular Iguazu Falls. If the steamy climate gets to be too much, sip tereré, an ice cold version of green Argentine tea, and relax poolside.
Posada Puerto Bemberg is a jungle paradise that combines rustic luxury with a wilderness experience near the mighty Iguazu Falls.
