Phinda Private Game Reserve encompasses an impressive 23 000 hectares of prime wilderness, showcasing the finest in game viewing experiences, including that of cheetah and Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), endangered black rhino and 415 bird species. Phinda is described as “Seven Worlds of Wonder”, with its seven distinct habitats - a magnificent tapestry of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, river courses, marshes and waterholes. The Phinda Reserve is also located very close to the Indian Ocean coastline creating this unique and diverse eco-system and adding another dimension to your wilderness experience.
With wraparound views of the spectacular Ubombo mountain range and the surrounding Zululand bushveld, Phinda Mountain Lodge is a dramatic safari destination. It's 25 split-level suites crest the mountain’s edge, offering breathtaking raptor’s-eye views of the Reserve below.
Each luxurious suite boasts a romantic en-suite bathroom, private sitting area, and spacious veranda complete with private plunge pool and outdoor shower. The guest area is a magnificent u-shaped building with central al fresco courtyard and the dining area overlooking the Reserve with the Ubombo Mountains in the distance.
Highly trained rangers and trackers will do their utmost to delight guests with a selection of the following activities:Twice daily game drives, interpretive bush walks taking in the sights, smells and sounds of the African bush and Mzinene River boat cruises watching the smaller denizens of the bush perform their morning or evening rituals.
