Primates & Plantation
The lodge, built to blend in with the surrounding environment is situated in a tea plantation on the edge of the Nyungwe closed canopy rain forest, home to 13 species of primate including Chimpanzees. Nyungwe National Park is located in the south – west region of Rwanda.
Nyungwe Forest Lodge has 24 rooms that all overlook the vibrant green tea plantation. All the rooms are very stylish and comfortable and are themed in black, white and red with a few quirky African touches here and there. The lodge has offers a spa, gym, business facilities and a range of dining options. Choose to dine at Boma, the outdoor bar, or in the restaurant where private dinners on the terrace are a highlight. From the infinity pool look out to the wild forest all the way across to the distant mountains.
The lodge offers a selection of activities from 1-7 hour guided walks, to exotic bird watching in the forest or a local cultural walk. You can trek though the lush jungle and spot the chimpanzees, black & white Colobus monkey and grey-cheeked Mangabey as they swing from tree to tree, or head out on a walk to the spectacular Kamiranzovu waterfalls.
