explora Travesia Uyuni
A nomadic journey in style

Your journey across the Altiplano begins in the mythical Bolivian city of Potosi, whose vast silver deposits sustained the Spanish Empire for centuries.
Amid the vastness of this rough, deserted territory, is the Salar de Uyuni, the largest and highest altitude salt flat in the world. Here you will make your home for several days and go on different treks around the area.
The journey will take you through valleys in between mountains, passing by volcanoes, geothermal plains, lakes and wetlands, where you will find a surprising range of wildlife, with many species endemic to the area. You will go deep into the Altiplano, following roads which pass through deserted towns, where it is possible to observe ancient ways of life.
From the Chilean Altiplano, you will descend to the San Pedro oasis, where you will use explora Atacama as a base to explore deep into Atacama's natural and cultural wealth.
