Chikoko Walking Trails
Feel Africa through the soles of your feet
Situated in the South Luangwa National Park, along the west bank of the Luangwa River, the Chikoko Trails Camps consist of two private camps: Chikoko Tree Camp and Crocodile River Camp. Walks take you from camp to camp in this remote part of Eastern Zambia typically following well-worn elephant and hippo trails, not to mention the original footsteps of David Livingstone. As you walk your expert guides and armed scout, share their experience and wilderness knowledge so that you discover the inner workings of the African bush.
Each Camp has just 3 simply furnished, reeded and thatched or canvas chalets with private bathrooms.
It is an experience that is liberating and unforgettable. With enough to keep even the most energetic teenager occupied the Chikoko Trails Camps are ideal for families. The two Camps are open seasonally from the 25th of May to the 31st of October. Safari walks typically last three to four hours and this includes a welcome mid-morning tea break, the remainder of the day is spent eating wholesome bush meals and relaxing around camp. The terrain covered is fairly flat but occasionally uneven. To make the most of these walking safari adventures it is ideal to spend two to three nights at each of the Chikoko Trails Camps - Chikoko Tree Camp and Crocodile River Camp.
