Nestled between mountainous terrain spearheaded by Table Mountain and the icy blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town is a unique coastal paradise for foodies and nature lovers alike. Hosted by one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, Christine Manfield, this 10 day journey has been expertly crafted to focus on the vibrant contemporary culture of South Africa's Cape, taking in the innovative food scene of Cape Town and the exceptional wines and 'paddock-to-plate' dining experiences of the surrounding Cape Winelands.

During this journey through South Africa's diverse culinary contrasts you will explore the backbones of what makes the country such an exciting gastronomic hub, always with the benefit of Christine's personal connections and expert insight on hand. In Cape Town you'll taste traditional home cooked treats walking the streets of the Bo Kaap, sample fresh seafood plucked straight from the ocean, scale Table Mountain and explore the bohemian artistry of Woodstock. You'll spend the morning with students attending a modest township cookery school and shop for fresh produce at the finest farmers markets.

Heading from the city into the winelands the pace will slow and you'll have time to relax into the area's easy way of life staying at a historic Cape Dutch farm, now a luxurious hotel. Here amongst the green rolling vineyards you can expect 'closed door' dining experiences with the country's top chefs, market garden produce, hands‐on cooking classes with Christine, tastings of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek's finest wines and time to explore the region's pretty villages and Cape Dutch architecture.

Throughout your journey you'll enjoy unique experiences not usually available to the public with 'behind the scenes' access to exclusive properties, private vineyards and artisan kitchens. Through Christine's personal connections you'll meet growers, chefs, winemakers and baristas and really dig beneath the surface of South Africa’s thriving gastronomic scene.
