It is rich in wildlife, with animals like the takin, snow leopard, golden langur, blue sheep, tiger, water buffalo, and elephant.
In an effort to safeguard its environment Bhutan carefully manages the number of visitors it allows in each year and activities vary from trekking to kayaking, from scenic flights over the mountains to enjoying the colourful festivals when in season.
