In honour of a true king of the jungle, who once roamed the plains of Hwange National Park, this itinerary commemorates the legacy of Cecil the black maned lion who was tragically killed in July 2015.

Experience 3 nights in Zambezi Sands River Camp, Victoria Falls and 3 nights in Nehimba Lodge within the vast wilderness of Hwange National Park where Cecil once roamed.

Whilst in Victoria Falls take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River amongst the islands near Zambezi Sands River Camp,  join a guided canoe safari, paddling past hippo pods and amongst abundant bird life or fish for fierce Tigerfish. Tour the Falls themselves and browse the local curio market during your stay.  Should you wish to venture further afield visit Sidobe Village for a look at life in a typical Zimbabwean village before venturing south to Hwange National Park where Nehimba Lodge sits on its own private concession.  Located in the north of the park, in an area where many of Hwange’s wild residents enjoy wandering freely, this is where Cecil the lion roamed.  Your game drives will be conducted in specially modified Land Rovers designed to provide you with ideal opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. For an entirely different perspective you can experience the thrill of approaching wildlife on foot on a walking safari, or view Hwange in a different 'light', on a night drive through the concession.
