Sausage Tree Camp is nestled amongst massive winter thorns and Mahogany trees on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park. The beauty of the park lies in its state of wildness, a phenomenal setting of vast river channels with a shimmering escarpment rising in the north.

The wildlife is prolific, particularly during the winter months, with huge herds of elephant & buffalo, a range of plains game including zebra and wildebeest along with their predators - lion, leopard and wild dog. The birdlife too, is rich and rewarding with over 300 species including fish eagles, herons and kingfishers.

Game drives are the most reliable and successful way to see a good variety of wildlife, both large and small, and walking is the perfect way to search for the smaller creatures. And until the Zambezi River is explored by canoe or boat, it is impossible to truly appreciate the huge hippo pods and crocodile populations. Whatever your chosen activity you will be led by professional guides & National Parks Wildlife Officers.

Sausage Tree Camp offers a true bush experience with lavish attention to detail. The camp offers 5 ‘Signature Tents’, two ‘Honeymoon Suites’ and the stunning ‘Kigelia House’. Each tent has its own personal Muchinda (butler) to attend to your every whim. Because of its remoteness, layout and decor, Sausage offers an eclectic combination of luxury, wilderness, and both river & land safari activities.
