This exceptional 11 day safari takes in the very best of Botswana in the verdant green season, known for its rich wildlife sightings, brilliant birdlife and stunning photographic backdrops.

Arriving in Botswana you’ll travel to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) - an area established to protect the traditional way of life of the nomadic San Bushman tribes. Here you’ll be welcomed by sundowners around the fire and an evening presentation on Conservation, Nights Skies & the San People of the Kalahari by expert Mr Paul Sheller. A fully serviced mobile safari will enable you to experience the CKGR’s fiercely beautiful but hostile environment, home to the famous 'Kalahari Lions', cheetah, brown hyena, the tenacious honey badger and more.

Moving to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park you will search for the vast herds of migrating zebra (up to 25000 animals) that leave the Boteti river system and concentrate on the open grasslands in search of nutritious grasses to give birth to their young. The good grazing also attracts springbok, impala, gemsbok, giraffe, kudu, hartebeest and wildebeest, all followed by lions and hyena which provides some heart-in-mouth sightings and some phenomenal photographic opportunities. A true spectacle of nature! The grasslands of the Makgadikgadi also hide small colonies of meerkats that have become habituated to people and provide hours of comical interaction.

The final part of the journey will see you exploring the Moremi Game Reserve in the world famous Okavango Delta. The Okavango is an inland delta situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world - the Kalahari Basin. As an oasis in an otherwise inhospitable landscape it boasts a mosaic of pans, grasslands, forests and lagoons which provide an extremely rich and diverse habitat for a huge variety of flora, fauna and birdlife. During your time here you’ll have the opportunity to take a scenic flight, explore the waterways by mekoro (traditional dug-out canoe) and enjoy guide game drives both during the day and at night. Exploring after dark with a spotlight offers the opportunity to experience some of the nocturnal animals that are rarely encountered during the day.

This itinerary perfectly encompasses the diversity and wonder of Botswana’s pristine natural habitats and wonders. Witnessing the migration of 25000 zebra across the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park is a rare spectacle that few safari-goers will ever witness and the game and birdlife in these pristine paradises in truly unrivalled.
