This adventure takes in many of the scenic, cultural and wildlife highlights of Guyana and is available as a small group scheduled departure or private tour. 

Visit Georgetown with its charming, stilted wooden houses, marvel at the natural splendour of Kaieteur Falls and enjoy jungle trekking and wildlife watching in the rainforests of the Iwokrama and Pakaraima Mountains.  For the nature lover you can seek out the elusive jaguar, giant anteaters, giant water otters and myriad of bird life.  Engage the Amerindian community of Surama, participate in black caiman research in the heart of Yupakari on the Rupununi River and ride alongside vacqueros (cowboys) deep in the southern savannahs.

At a Glance

Day 1 - Arrive in Guyana and transfer to Georgetown and overnight at Cara Lodge.
Day 2 - Visit the famous Kaieteur Falls where the Potaro River thunders 741 feet into the gorge below. Overnight at Cara Lodge. 
Day 3 - Flight across the rainforest and then drive to the Iwokrama River Lodge where you will explore the trails in the company of your Iwokrama ranger. 
Day 4 - Spend the day exploring with your guide spotting wildlife, summit Turtle Mountain and visit Kurupukari Falls to see the Amerindian petroglyphs.
Day 5 - Spend the day exploring with your guide on a dawn wildlife walk, 4x4 trail and Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. Overnight at Atta Rainforest Lodge. 
Day 6 - Welcome the dawn chorus from the canopy walkway.  Explore the trails in search of wildlife.  
Day 7 - Visit the Guianian Cock-of-the-rock lek site.  Continue to the Amerindian village of Surama and take a short walk to observe the forest and its bird life. Overnight at Surama Eco-Lodge. 
Day 8 - Dawn walk across the savannah and climb Surama Mountain for its incredible views. In the afternoon enjoy a canoe trip on the Burro Burro River.
Day 9 - Today 4x4 to Rock View Lodge, where the savannah meets the forest-covered foothills of the Pakaraima Mountains.  
Day 10 - Join the vacquero (cowboys) on horseback as they take cattle out to graze on the savannah, hike the foothills of the mountains or nearby Amerindian villages. 
Day 11 - Today enjoy a 4x4 and boat trip on the Rupununi River to Karanambu Lodge. This is the home of Diane McTurk, known for her work in rehabilitating orphaned, giant river otters to the wild. 
Day 12 - Search the savannah for giant anteater.  Explore the flooded forest, oxbow lakes, river or savannah for wildlife.  
Day 13 - Explore the Rupununi River in search of wild giant river otters, black caiman and arapiama.  
Day 14 - Flight back to Georgetown and an afternoon city tour.  Overnight at Cara Lodge. 
Day 15 - Transfer to the airport.
