This itinerary works in collaboration with the grand opening of School For Life’s brand new secondary school. After six years of operating a successful primary school, they are now opening the doors of this complimentary facility in time for the primary graduates to start their secondary education.

The grand opening will take place over three days with an opening party on Monday 19th June 2017 as well and an open day, home visits and  performances and dancing from the students. It’s a chance to really learn about the lives of the students and their families, appreciate the difficulties of providing an education to Uganda’s youth and fully immerse yourself in the way of life here.

To complement the opening we have created an itinerary to expand your Ugandan experience. The Classic Uganda Safari showcases the country’s untouched national parks, joyful people, prolific birdlife and staggeringly diverse wildlife.

Over half the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas live in the "impenetrable" rainforests of Bwindi and this itinerary will allow you time to spend quietly in their humbling company – an experience that will stay with you for life. You will also trek the Kibale forest to encounter habituated chimpanzees, spot tree-climbing lions, warthog, leopard, elephants and more on game drives through Queen Elizabeth National Park, surround yourself with over 400 species of birds and butterflies and visit Katuuso Primary and Vocational School. A short stay in the small lakeside town of Entebbe will see you relaxing in a beautiful colonial property, exploring markets, catching a game of football or enjoying a beer and a chat with the friendly locals.

For the duration you’ll stay in comfortable, authentic accommodation which will place you in the heart of Uganda’s stunning natural scenery and provide a real home from home. Our carefully selected camps and lodges all provide en suite bathrooms with flush toilets, cool, shaded lounge areas for relaxation in the heat of the day, al fresco dining under the starry night sky, beautiful views and the thrill of sleeping under elegant drapes and canvas in the style of the original safari. Moreover, you will benefit from the knowledge and experience of qualified, expert guides who will escort you in safe, purpose designed vehicles to ensure you get the very best out of your Ugandan safari experience.

With its amazing topographical contrasts, rich flora and fauna and exuberant, friendly people no wonder Uganda is often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Africa'.

Note: you can opt to join either the full 11 day safari or an 'express' 4 day itinerary - please contact us for further details and full itineraries.
