Baghvan Jungle Lodge
Lying on the edge of the strikingly beautiful Pench National Park is the delightful and enchanting Baghvan Pench Jungle Lodge. There are twelve charming jungle suites with overhanging trees lining the dry nullah (riverbed) surrounded by forest. Each suite furnished in copper and pale turquoise has a covered passageway leading to a spacious, modern bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a private sit-out and stairs leading to a machan (jungle platform) for romantic sleep outs – complete with mosquito nets and hookah pipes. The sandy bed of the nullah provides a clear path through the jungle for the wildlife so don’t be surprised if you find a sambar deer on your doorstep in the morning.
Delicious breakfasts and lunches are served on a sweeping shaded deck around the beautiful swimming pool, overlooking the nullah, a favourite route of the Pench tigers. During your afternoon game drive stop for a well-deserved refreshing sundowner cocktail or enjoy a sundowner back at camp under a huge Banyan tree. A sumptuous traditional Indian dinner is served on the spacious dining deck or a private dinner in the jungle can be arranged.
When you’re not out on a game drive, on an elephant safari, on a guided or cultural walk with a trained naturalist, cool off in the lovely swimming pool, spend time in the well-stocked library or relax on your private sit-out watching the jungle life go by.
