Estancia Arroyo Verde
Experience the magical Traful River on horseback, on foot or wading its waters
Nestling in the Traful Valley Arroyo Verde, named after one the Traful's tributaries, has, for more than 25 years, played host to discerning hikers, horse riders and anglers of all ages and abilities and those seeking adventure in absolute comfort.
The amazing river Traful which runs for ten miles through the unspoilt beauty of Arroyo Verde is home to land-locked salmon, brown and rainbow trout. The surrounding Andes Mountains make for breathtaking horse riding and hiking excursions. What makes Arroyo Verde so special is that it is still home for the Larivière family who take an active part in preserving this unique establishment and maintaining its high standards of hospitality.
Estancia Arroyo Verde is perhaps the most beautiful estancia in southern Argentina, in one of the world’s unique places. The countryside is absolutely captivating and the ranch is embedded in an enchanted valley of wind-and-water sculpted rock spires, minarets, and chimneys, with the scenic Traful River flowing through it.
The main house is lovely, elegantly appointed, and very comfortable, with open views of the Patagonian countryside and its manicured gardens. There is also a heavenly guest cabin perched on a cliff with one of the most wonderfully imaginable views.
Arroyo Verde is a paradise for outdoor lovers, offering a perfect setting for horseback riding across the open valley, up the mountains through picturesque forests and hidden lakes, to caves with Indian paintings. You can observe the amazing flight of the condors while walking or hiking in this terrain of astounding beauty, relax at a crystal lake for water sports, a lovely beach for relaxing or taking a cold swim and fish for trout and landlocked salmon in one of the world’s finest rivers - the Traful. Enjoy a sundowner with the magnificent views from the cabin’s terrace, savouring a delicious and typical Argentine barbecue and relaxing in this paradise while sharing the lifestyle of true Argentine ranchers, the charming and excellent hosts, Meme Lariviere and her daughters.
