This unique, exceptional camp nestles amongst shady Ana trees on the site of the original Governor’s retreat. It was first established in the days of the British Colony when the early pioneers of tourism in the country were exploring the most remote and beautiful reaches of what is now the Lower Zambezi National Park. The ruins of the Governor’s camp can still be seen half a mile from the lodge grounds, adding a spectacular sense of heritage.

Anabezi is a luxury tented camp placed right at the edge of a ridge providing magnificent, panoramic views of both the Zambezi River and Mushika River flood plain and year-round viewing of the abundant plains game. Each of the eleven spacious tents is on a raised timber platform to capitalize on the stunning views and each has the luxury of both an indoor and outdoor bathroom. There is a choice of swimming pools offering guests cool refreshment from the warm African sun while the fire boma offers an inviting end to the day where guests can appreciate the sounds of the wild and gaze at the stars of the African night sky.

The lodge offers activities including game drives, night drives, walking safaris into the Kulefu woodlands, canoeing safaris on the Zambezi River, bird watching, boating and fishing. Slowing the pace and travelling on foot or by boat really allows guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature around them.
