Alicura Fishing Lodge
Seclusion, adventure & luxury in the Patagonian Wilderness
Due east of the city of Bariloche, Estancia Alicura is located in the centre of one of Patagonia's most productive river systems.
Whilst the 200,000+ acre Estancia Alicura continues to be a working ranch, it harmoniously accommodates guests in search of seclusion, adventure and luxury. Under the personal supervision of Texas businessman and owner Ward Lay (of Lays Chips fame), the 100-year-old colonial ranch house combines 19th century charm with 21st century luxury. A subtle combination of rustic adventure is complimented by gourmet food, lavish accommodations and fine wines from Lay's own vineyards in Mendoza.
In addition to the beautiful scenery the wildlife of Patagonia abounds here. View large herds of red deer, Andean condors and Guanacos, and if you are lucky you may event spot the elusive puma. Guests can experience a range of activities including horse riding, 4-wheel drive explorations, hiking and fly-fishing (extra & seasonal) - including fishing from Alicura's drift boats or overnight floats accompanied by professional guides. All equipment needed can be provided, from flies to leaders to rods and waders.
From the snow-capped Andes mountain range to the valleys and gin clear waters that Patagonia is known for, it's hard to imagine riding and fishing in a more spectacular setting.
